For 2006

Yes, I came to the conclusion are elders lied (or is it lyed?) To us! Or perhaps I wasn't reading between the lines? All our lives we heard, "and live happily ever after"! Even though we knew it was in story tales we all secretly wanted that story, that dream. One day I finally realized what that catchy little phase meant! It was the word "after"! After you stop partying like there's no tomorrow, after you realize your parents did know what they were talking about, after the children move out, and for some of us, after our marriages. So just live happy! After all it's just my option!

08/28/2006 Patty Strong Kelly is no longer missing!  She sent some news along...

I noticed the address given for me was somewhere near College Park Pa!!??,I seem to have lived everywhere else but I have never lived there! However, my youngest daughter did attend Penn State (main campus, close to there, odd huh? Left Hawaii (after four years) for Pittsburgh (what was I thinking!) and now all four kids successfully graduated University and either working on or have their masters degrees so I thought it was about time "Mom" got hers. I'm working and slogging about in the swamps of North Carolina's Outer Banks and loving every minute! No tanning booth needed, the real thing keeps me brown. Only four hours drive from all kids, 2 in DC, 2 in Raleigh I work sun up to sundown in the wetlands. I don't always smell terrific but it sure keeps the pounds off!

Wish I could have made the last reunion, but one graduation, two weddings and a funeral took priority...and all my energy that summer! Have good memories (when I CAN remember) of WHS and have a vague recollection of doing a lot of dancing back then, the sore feet never did go away! I hope everyone is happy and healthy and stays that way for along time to come.

02/03/2005 News from Susan Wiest:

I have been within 30 miles of Wheeling H.S. For the last 23 years! For some reason even though I have called the school and given them an up date on me they seem to want to forget me. Was I that bad? Debby Berry, Theresa Johnson and I wrote to the President of the U.S.A. And the commanding officer at Glenview Naval base to get permission to have girls in NJROTC. We were the first to present the colors at the Bulls game in Chicago. I was one of the first girls in power mechanics. We were prototypes for modular scheduling and taught left foot breaking. I graduated a half a year early with 22 credits and went down to Waco, Texas with the concert choir after I was out of school and they were non-the-wiser! I did my own divorce in 1992 after 10 years and three children. One who is no longer living from a car crash at 21. I have owned 2 resturants and a construction company . Out of survival, without child support or public aid I was forced to work in a man's world where the dollars are. I currently am in the water sewer business by day and own a metal refinishing company with my brother by night. Wheeling H.S. did teach me one good thing ,never take no for an answer!!! My brother is Bob Wiest, my cousins are Cyndi Wiest, Randy Wiest, Laura Wiest, Michelle Straiker, Melanie Straiker, Marybeth Straiker and Tommy Straiker. We all went to Wheeling. I don't know how you couldn't of found me, but that's o.k. Delete me if you will. I know where Wheeling is and I won't be voted off the island!! Ha! Ha!!

01/01/2006 Happy New Year!  There are still 119 members of the Class of 1974 missing
