I’m sorry to have to report that Barbara Jean Pratt ’74 passed away this last Tuesday, 09/04/2017.  Information came from Barbara’s younger sister Lois Pratt Ferguson ’76.  I have no details at this time about funeral arrangements.

04/30/2017 Patrick J. Corcoran Patrick J. Corcoran II, passed away 07/31/2011.  His younger brother Mickey Corcoran '75 provided the information.  Thanks to Nancy Knight Young '76 for fiding PJ's obituary...
Patrick Joseph Corcoran II, 55, of Crystal Lake, passed away peacefully, Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Crossroads Care Center in Woodstock.

He was born Feb. 17, 1956, to Patrick and Barbara Corcoran. He worked as a Union 134 electrician, building famous high rises in the city of Chicago. He was a wonderful father to his five children, a White Sox fan, and he loved his MGD's. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 24 years, Deborah; his beloved children, Cassidy Star, Sommer Skye, Patrick III, Kelly and Shauna; and his fond brothers and sisters, Mickey, Dee, Craig, Kevin and Debbie. A special blessing goes out to the Angels at Crossroads Care Center. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.

A memorial Mass celebration will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at The Church of Holy Apostles, 5211 W. Bull Valley Road, McHenry, 815-385-5673. Father Sherry will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

03/03/2017 Rosemary Heredia Lara-Carnahan I was informed a few minutes ago that Rosemary Heredia Lara-Carnahan passed away yesterday.  Rosemary was one of several Heredia siblings that graduated from WHS, including two older brothers Jessie Heredia '71 and Joseph Heredia '73

Rosemary Lara-Carnahan was born April 23, 1955 in Evanston to Jesus and Maria D. (nee Hernandez) Heredia. She died March 2, 2017 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington.

Rosemary worked in the human resources department for Walgreen’s Headquarters in Deerfield, where she retired from in 2015 and for Smalley Steel Ring in Lake Zurich, formerly in Wheeling.

Rosemary is survived by her former husband and father of her children, Tony Lara; her children, Cristina (Gustavo) Correa, Rachel Lara, Anthony Lara and Austin Carnahan; her step children, Alison Carnahan and Christopher (Lauren) Carnahan; her grandchildren Maximo, Lina and Emanuel; her step grandchildren, Kety and Oliva; her siblings Sandra (Greg) Nagrant, Linda (Casimiro) Vela, Jesse (Liz) Heredia, Joe (Sharon) Heredia and Rick (Bonnie) Heredia; her mother Maria D. Heredia and by many nieces and nephews.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her husband Gibb Carnahan and by her father Jesus Heredia.

Visitation Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road, (4 blocks south of Palatine Road) Arlington Heights, and Monday, March 6, 2017 from 9:00 AM at St. Edna Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights until Funeral Mass 10:00 AM. Interment at Ridgewood Cemetery.

02/03/2017 Patrick Sumner I'm sorry to have to report that Patrick Sumner passed away on Friday, February 03, 2017.  I have no details and as of this time no obituary has been posted.  Patrick has two younger sisters who also graduated from WHS. Kim Sumner Pecka '76, and Gail Sumner Walthall '78.  Rest in Peace Pat.

Patrick R. Sumner of Maricopa, AZ, formerly of Palatine and Wheeling, IL, passed away Feb. 3, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. Born August 27, 1956, to William and Dora Sumner, he is survived by his husband, Garry Carson; his sisters, Kimberly (Keith) Pecka and Gail (Barry) Walthall; and his stepchildren, Kayci and Ben Carson. He will be missed by many, especially his loving nephews, Steven Chmura, Bradley Pecka and Craig Walthall; niece, Jenna Pecka; and great-nephew, Ethan Chmura. Patrick worked at Dominick's Food Stores for over 30 years before moving to Arizona. He worked in several different capacities while living there. His favorite pasttime was traveling. He took many trips to various places around the world. He is preceded in death by his father, William Sumner; and brother, Donald. A celebration of life is scheduled to March 8, 2017, at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Please omit flowers. In memory of Patrick, donations of blood would be greatly appreciated.
