More sad news for the Class of 1966. Janine Turley McDonough passed away today (11/04/2018) after losing her battle with brain cancer. Janine attended Main South high school for 3 years and then finished up at WHS for her senior year. Janine has two younger siblings who are WHS alumni. Greg Turley '68, and Nancy Turley Santay '69. Rest in peace Janine.

Not a good year for the Class of 1966 as they turn 70 years old :-(. I was informed that Cynthia A. Rabbitt passed away on September 2, 2018. She had battled lung cancer for 3 yrs., but ended up losing her battle against pneumonia. Rest In Peace, Cindy.

I received some sad news for the Class of 1966 this morning from Kit McCay Pavesa '66:

"My sister, Patricia (McKay) Harker passed away yesterday, in Greensboro, NC, after a battle with metastatic breast cancer. Class of 1966."

I was just notified by Lynda M Miner Stary's husband that she passed away on August 23, 2018. She had been living in Algonquin, IL. I was unable to locate an obituary on line.

I'm sorry to have to present this sad information but it was brought to my attention that Mardelle "Marti" Dwiel passed away. Here is her obituary:
ELGIN - Mardelle "Marti" Moorman, 69, of Elgin, passed away on January 12, 2018 in Elgin. She was born on October 13, 1948 in Chicago, IL to Raymond and Margaret Dwiel. She was a Loving Mother, Daughter, Grandmother, and Aunt. She is survived by son Christopher Shadel, close friend Steve Shadel, and a grandson John Shadel. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Beverly Shadel, and a brother. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Laird Funeral Home, Elgin. For information call 847-741-8800 or www.lairdfamilyfuneralservices.com.

70TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

Last year we asked you to take a survey regarding the 70th get together. The response from the survey was really split regarding where the birthday party should take place. With that being said, we decided to have the festivities back in Illinois.

The 70th gathering won't be on the same scale as the 50th, but it will be fun! It will take place the weekend of September 28th, 2018.

The 50th reunion was certainly memorable and the weekend passed too quickly. The 70th Birthday Bash will make more memories, so don't miss the get together.

We are planning a casual dinner for Friday evening, and Saturday evening at a nicer restaurant. There will also be some fun activities.

Join the fun for your 70th Birthday! Yikes - what a milestone! If you are interested in attending the 70th get together, please let us know as soon as possible so that we can proceed with the plans for the party.

We look forward to your response by February 28.
