12/09/2021 Nancy C. Swetionic
I'm sorry to inform the class of 1966 that they have lost another classmate to a higher authority.
I was contacted by a WHS alumni from the class of 2001, saying that she was trying to find pictures of her mom who was a member of the first graduating class from Wheeling High School. That alumni is Wendy Marie Andersen, and her mom was Nancy Swetonic Andersen. Wendy told me that Nancy passed away on 10/24/2021.
Rest in Peace Nancy.
10/12/2021 Mary Jean Young I received word today that Mary Jean Young, passed away from cancer in March of this year.  I do not as yet have the exact date.  This sad news was sent to me by Mary's younger sister Gail Young Newitt '70.   Gail also informed me that her younger brother Eugene  M. Young '72 passed away in August from a heart attack.

Rest in Peace Mary

03/02/2021 Diane Lynn Barefoot I regret that another passing of a member of the Class of 1966 was uncovered. Diane Lynn Barefoot passed away a little more than a year ago on January 25, 2020. Diane had been unfortunately, on the missing list. Diane had two siblings that I know of but I don't believe they attended WHS. A brother Larry Barefoot who preceded her in death, and a sister Lenette Barefoot. I have neither of them in the alumni database. Diane was apparently residing in Vancouver, WA at the time of her passing. There is no obituary posted only a guestbook at https://www.hamiltonmylan.com/guestbook/diana-barefoot#guestbook

Rest in Peace Diane.
02/11/2021 William Lytle Some belated sad news. Bill Lytle '66 passed away on his birthday, July 1, 2020. I have no additional information at this time. If I'm not mistaken Bill had at least 3 younger siblings. John who should have graduated in 1969 (missing). Virginia '72 sadly passed away 12/08/2009. and Bruce Lytle '75.  Rest in Peace Bill.
01/30/2021   Kathy McSorley LaBell I'm sorry to have to pass along this information. Kathy McSorley LaBelle passed away today (01/30/2021) from cancer. This is a very sad trifecta. Kathy's younger sisters Beverley '68 and Pamela '70 also passed away from cancer in 2016 and 2004 respectively.

No other details at this time about funeral arrangements for Kathy.
Kathy McSorley LaBell
Rest in Peace Kathy.

01/01/2021   Happy New Year!  Still 110 members of the class of 1966 on the missing list.
