Wheeling High School Class of 1968 News for 2014

10/13/2014 I just received more sad news, this time for the Class of 1968. John Pate '68 passed away back on October 13th, 2014. John's younger sister Tanya is a '71 grad, but she's currently on the missing list for her class. John's obituary was brief:

• Michigan
John Irvin Pate passed away October 13, 2014.

He proudly served his country in Vietnam in the US Army, and also worked as a Tool and Die Maker.

He is survived by his loving sister Tanya (Joe) Molczyk, his nieces: Erica Austin, Loni (David) Crowe, Billie (Roger) Vickery, and his great Niece and Nephew: David and Madison Crowe.

The Class of 1968 is one alumni fewer. Rex A. Peterson, passed away on July 5th. Here is the note from Karen Peterson Westrich, Rex's younger sister ('74):

It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of a huge loss to our family, the passing of my brother, Rex Peterson. It comes as a shock as he passed away in his sleep on July 5. Rex was a loving and kind person to all. I am not just saying this because he is my brother, but everyone liked Rex. He did not have a mean bone in his body. Please hold in prayer my sister in law, Linda,as she grieves the loss of her husband and best friend and my niece, Courtney, who lost her amazing dad. The hurt is deep. Together as a family we will hold on to and cherish the memories of our loving Rex Arthur Peterson.

Rex also has a younger brother Monty who graduated in 1971.

Rest in peace Rex. You will be sorely missed.
