I was informed just now by Steven Piehl, that Barb Moriarity passed away this morning from pancreatic cancer.  Here was his message to me:

Hello Gary, wanted to let our alumni know that one of ours has passed away this am. Barbara Moriarity Thomas, Class of 70. She is on FB (https://www.facebook.com/bthomas356?fref=ts).  She died from pancreatic cancer after a valiant struggle. At some point there will be a celebration of life back in Chicago, as she has not lived in the area for many yrs. however some of her family still resides there. Am not familiar with protocol dealing with this. I still know the family well and it would be fine to post as you normally do thank you.

If and when I get more information about funeral arrangements and/or a celebration of life for Barb in the Chicagoland area I’ll be sure to pass it on and post the information in the WHS related FB groups. 

Barb had two younger siblings who also graduated from WHS: Brother John Greg Moriarity (73); Brother Dana Moriarity (76).

Barb was living on Pottstown PA. She was an alumnus of WIU.
