During this holiday season, Nancy Bertocchio, got together with her younger sister Lois Bertocchio McGee '71 and friend, Larrilynn Bordner, for lunch in Chicago. It's obvious, a good time was had by all.

Note

After going through the 66-67 Cats on Call and the 2001 WHS Alumni Directory several more members of the Class of 1967 were discovered. Therefore the number on the missing list went up to 225.

Steve Ekblad started Omega Sales Inc. Manufacturers rep for AV products calling on IL/WI. We started last November. It is going pretty well. We are making money as of February 2003. Our offices are near the intersection of Milwaukee and Lake Cook in Wheeling. Steve sent along a recent picture of himself and his oldest daughter Erin who has just graduated from Denver University. Steve is planning on attending the homecoming festivities on October 10th.

Here is a little reunion memo from Heather Johnson Straka, "Sorry I missed so many pals Friday night by arriving too late to read nametags at 94th Aero Squadron. If anyone out there from the class of 1967 knows the whereabouts of Phil Benning ( my high school flame Junior Year), both I and his daughter would really appreciate hearing from you. She and I will both be attending Homecoming on the 10th; I will get to show off my Junior-Senior year project! (We reunited during the All-60's Classes Reunion Weekend, many thanks to Butch Bandur, Keith Fletcher, and this totally awesome website!) And oh! How I wish I golfed! I'd have given anything to hook up with one of my true, true influences. Eons ago I thought I had Coach Daletski's e-mail address, but the message I sent was returned to me. If anyone had a chance to update that over the Reunion Weekend, please forward it on to me!"

Karen M. Haben of Des Plaines Funeral services for Karen M. Haben, 54, formerly of Wheeling, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (two blocks south of Dundee Road), Wheeling. Born Dec. 2, 1949, in Highland Park, she died Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at her home. Interment will be private. Karen was the companion of John Huber; mother of Jeni Fitch Livery; grandmother of Britnee Livery; daughter of Lorraine and the late John Haben; sister of Kenneth (Susan) Haben; aunt of Kourtnie, Lindsie and Zachary Haben; niece of Margaret (Robert) Hartman and Barbara (Matt) DiMaria; great-niece of Margaret Forke; and cousin of Greg Hartman, Barbara Forke, Ann Marie (Craig) Cocciola and Barbara DiMaria. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until the time of services Saturday, at the funeral home. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book. I just heard from Richard's younger sister Patricia Kerr '69, that Richard passed away in the 1980's. Richard also has an older brother Jerry who is a 1966 WHS grad, and yet another older brother Steve who graduated from Prospect HS in 1965. I've gotten no details about how Jerry died. It's just really sad to know that he passed away and none of us knew about it or were able to offer our condolences in a timely manner. Rest in Peace Richard Kerr.

The first combined All 60's Classes Reunion was held this weekend. All the classes, '66, '67, '68, and '69 enjoyed a whole weekend of fun and remembrances. Friday night we gathered at the 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant & Bar for an informal getting re-acquainted event. Saturday morning several people got together for a golf outing, with Coach Daletski in attendance. Saturday night we had a more of a formal reunion dinner at Chevy Chase with Dr. Tom Shirley providing the invocation. Sunday was a picnic at Dam #1 for the Bombers 2nd Annual Scholarship Bash. Pictures are on line now!

Bruce Barr has been located! "Sorry to be so elusive. I have had a lot of moves (20) since I left New Mexico in 1997 to pursue a professional flying career. I have been in Arizona and New Mexico as well as Idaho since I moved here about 3 months ago and will probably be leaving here after the fire season is over. Unfortunately, my flying duties and schedule will not permit me time to attend this year's reunion. Do you have a whereabouts of John Archer, who was a '67 classmate of mine? I think that he went into the Air Force after graduation. He was listed as "missing" at the time of the 20th reunion in 1987. Wonder if he has re-surfaced. I hope that you enjoy the reunion this year." [208].

Found Ted Fraser. Through his Step-Sister Christine Walters (Prospect HS '62) who gave me Ted's older sister's (Marge Frasier Counley (also a Prospect grad) e-mail address. Marge sent me Ted's mailing address and said that Ted doesn't have an e-mail address. Ted lives in Lonoke, AR. [209].
