Wheeling High School Class of 1967 News for 2013

Sadly Diane Simpkins Morris passed away yesterday 11/01/2013 after her long struggle with breast cancer. Two of Diane's siblings also graduated from WHS, Don Simpkins '66, and Deborah Simpkins '69. Diane was married to Maury Morris '67. Unfortunately Diane didn't have a senior picture in the yearbook. These comments were posted by Diane's sister Deborah:

My sister Diane lost her battle with cancer and went home to be with the Lord early yesterday morning....I will miss her and the ways that were unique to her. She could always encourage me with a good conversation and a positive outlook on a seemingly bad situation. We shared a lot in common with the way we thought and the things that we had a passion about..... I will miss those conversations immensely....I am heartbroken that I will never hear her voice again...but joyful when I picture her excited and healed in the presence of God, being able to walk and move around freely again, no more pain and suffering, no more tears and longing to go to heaven....you are there!! I miss you my sister! —

Sad news to pass along. WHS chemistry teacher Lewis Bowles passed away on March 2, 2013.
