08/31/2001		New contact for Kathryn Smith Sweeney. Her mailing address is in Glendora, CA. Here is what Kathryn had to say, "My husband Kevin is a Dam Operator for the L. A, County Public Works Flood Division. We reside on the dam facility in the area of residence called a "camp area." We still live in the Angeles Natl. Forest, but for the last year and a half, we reside at a dam called Big Dalton Dam. For over 16 years we lived in the most isolated facility in the southern area, 19 miles out of the foothills behind Pasadena called Cogswell Dam. That was where my two girls were raised, amongst lions, bobcats, and bears, oh my! They are two people who are especially happy to be living in an area that is still behind closed gates, within 2 miles of easy access to everything, especially friends. I teach preschool at a local college, Citrus College. I work with 3 year olds and continue to attend college. At the time when I should have finished and had the chance, I took off quitting school to find myself. I did. And I have been going to school it seems forever."

Here is what Larry offered up, "Mostly remember going to the Convenient for lunch, and since I had a long beard I could sneak lunch in the teachers line. Married Jan Steidle, we have 3 daughters: Jessi 24, Callie 14, and Margie 13. We live in Jackson MS and commute back and forth between there and New Orleans. 03/11/2001	I decided to change the handling of those on the PENDING list. To be moved from the Lost List to the PENDING list, I had to have found an alumni's listing on Classmates.com, or Alumni.net, or Highschoolalumni.com, or have been given contact information from another source. I would put PENDING as their address and that would take them off the MISSING list. However I found that many people didn't respond to e-mails sent to them from Classmates.com or other sources, so I've decided to implement a new rule of thumb. I will keep names in the PENDING list for 3 months. If they do not respond in that time, their PENDING status will be removed and they will go back on the missing list. I don't want to be misleading with the number of people who are found. I will publish a separate table of those on the PENDING list on the same page as the Missing List from now on.

02/01/2001		Joy Johnson Hawkins turned herself in today :-). Joy and her husband "Hawk" live in St. Petersburg, FL. Here is what Joy had to say, "Met Jay Woodlief Wheeling HS class of '72 in December of 72 when both working at the Chicken Unlimited in Buffalo Grove dated got married in May 76 moved to Tampa, Florida in June '81. Had a Son Elijah "Eli" in '84. Divorced in '91. Met my second husband HAWK thru a local weekly entertainment magazine "he put in a personal ad I answered it. Married on Friday the 13th of Sept. '91 on the beach at sunset. I have been working at Val-Pak in Largo Florida designing those coupons that come in those blue envelopes for the last 8 years. I love Florida very much but miss my family who all still live up there in Wheeling & Palatine Ill. Funny WHS Stories Anyone remember the underground newspaper "The Pregnant Walrus" I have a copy of the second issue with the Christmas Walrus on the cover.....I also remember Mr. Toll, History teacher who was one of the funniest teachers at WHS he used to take the metal movie canisters and bang them together above someone in class who was sleeping thru the movie he was showing us. And of course the Cow that mysteriously appeared in the courtyard one year... Most of all Hello to all of my WHS friends..... Rock On.."
